Discover the best of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes with Kai Tours and Safaris on a 6-day safari through four renowned national parks. Begin your journey in Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Next, head to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the Big Five, including rhinos and lions. Continue to the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park, where you’ll witness the annual Great Migration and spot predators like leopards and cheetahs. End your adventure in the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and flamingo-covered shores. This well-rounded safari offers a perfect mix of incredible wildlife encounters, stunning landscapes, and expertly guided game drives, making it a truly unforgettable Tanzanian experience.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be met by one of our representatives who will pick you up and brief you. After the general introduction, we will drive you straight to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast in your comfortable lodge, you will drive to Tarangire National Park with a packed lunch for a game drive. This lovely park has the largest concentrations of elephants in the world and the highest number of breeding bird species. Tarangire National Park is packed with wildlife, especially during the Dry season. See big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as the seldom-seen kudu, oryx, and gerenuk.
The Tarangire River draws enormous herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and predators who prey upon them. After the game drive, you will head to your accommodation for relaxation, where a delicious dinner awaits you.
After breakfast, we hit the road to experience the wonderful Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Africa. More precisely termed a caldera, this is the best place for game viewing in Tanzania. An enclosed ecosystem, the caldera is home to some 25,000 large mammals.
Descending the bumpy, winding track toward the caldera floor, we note our passage through several different climactic zones until, 600m down, we roam out onto the broad expanse. We can expect to see buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, elephant, reedbuck, and Thomson's gazelle. We may spot predators like lion and cheetah lounging in the grass or in action, and some of the more than 500 bird species that inhabit this area. With a little bit of luck, we might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.
After our extensive game drive within the crater, we return to our carefully selected quality tented camp in Serengeti National Park.
We dedicate this day to exploring Serengeti, the land of the Maasai, the community that has inhabited this area for millennia. The Serengeti hosts the world's last great terrestrial migration, that of the wildebeest and zebra. This awe-inspiring circular pilgrimage from north to south to west and back again is season dependent, passing through the terrain where we safari.
On our Serengeti safari, we hope to spot many creatures. After our picnic lunch, we continue to explore the park, and our guide, with his intimate knowledge of the terrain, will lead us to extraordinary landscapes where we will see abundant animals in their habitat.
After an extensive game drive, we head back to our tented camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast at our tented lodge in Serengeti, we will proceed with our final game drive on the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park. Lunch will be served inside the park at the picnic site. After that, we will exit the park, pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and proceed to our lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we hit the road to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara, known for its namesake lake, which covers some 70 percent of the park's area, is famed for its tree-climbing lions. Our game drive takes us to the lakeshore, where, while viewing the thousands of feeding flamingos, we can hope to spot monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, and, with some luck, lions lounging in the trees.
The park is known for its diverse landscapes, including open grassy plains, primate-filled woodlands, and baobab-dotted cliffs. Animals gather at the river, and giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest are often seen. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest, all of whom are closely attended by a range of predators like Simba, the lion king, and his cousin, the leopard.
After lunch and an extensive game drive, we head back to Arusha.
